My name is Sam and I am the owner of The Lady Bakes Cakes. I have a real passion for making and decorating celebration cakes. Last March (2014) I quit my job in admin to start up my own cake business. It is a decision I have not regreted for a moment. As well as making celebration cakes, I also run a stall on my local market selling home made cakes and biscuits. This is something I really enjoy as I love getting to speak with the people of our town.
I pride myself in the fact that I give each of my clients 100% when creating a specialised cake. If you would like to speak with me regarding a cake creation, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Cake International Entry
This year I decided that I would go along to the Cake International as I have not attended before.
Then I had the bright idea to enter one of the competition catargories. I entered into the Wedding Cake Catagory. I have to construct a cake of three or more tiers.
I thought long and hard about the theme i was going to do. In fact, the week of the competiotion I still had not settled on what I was going to do. In the end, I decide I would go with the Film 'Gone With the Wind'. This is one of my favourite films.
Each layer of the cake was my representation of some of the key moments in the film.
The bottom layer shows Scarlett looking over her land, the second layer represents her first wedding dress, the third layer is the dress she wore to Ashley's party.
The tube holding up the top layer has brown sugar inside, representing the soil from Tara, and the top layer, well, this is my favourite dress in the whole film!
I recieved the award of 'Certificate of Merit' which for my first entry I was over the moon with.
Now to plan next years entry....
